Our 1st Harvest

Marlaena and I have a small garden plot in the communal area our condo building and we were able to cash in the other night and harvest our first crop of the season! We planted some cucumbers, bell peppers, onions, and lettuce about a month ago and were able to pick a couple of the heads of green leaf lettuce and some green onions!

We made a salad with the lettuce, a few of the green onions and a bunch of other colourful veggies last night and it was awesome!! The lettuce was super crispy and tasted so damn fresh!! (who would have guessed?!?) 

And even though all we really did was just plant the little suckers in some potting soil and let Mother Nature take care of the rest, it was still pretty cool to be eating something we grew ourselves and can't wait to chow down on the rest of the crop when it's ready in a few more weeks!!
