Beginner exercises are for people who do not exercise frequently and/or have general mobility problems and need to strengthen their muscles for every day activities.
Equipment:  None

The alternating crunch-up is a beginner core exercise. This is a great ab exercise that puts little stress on the lower back and is suitable for all fitness levels.

Instructions on how to do Alternating Crunch-Up

Step 1: How to do this Upper Abs Exercise: Step 1 Start by lying on your back with both feet extended and your arms extended over your head.
Step 2: How to do this Upper Abs Exercise: Step 2 Lift your arms, head and shoulders up off of the floor and crunch up towards a single leg.
Step 3: How to do this Upper Abs Exercise: Step 3 Lower your single leg and body back down to the floor, alternate legs and repeat.
