Geriatric Exercises with Treadmill
The treadmill is an indoor exercise machine that simulates running or walking while staying in one place.
Most treadmills have a “cardio mode”, where a target heart rate is defined and the speed and elevation (load) is controlled automatically until the subject is in “heart rate steady state”.
The treadmill can also be used for high intensity interval training, hill training and power walking.
Jogging on the treadmill is a beginner level cardio exercise. This is a great exercise to use as a warm-up or for intervals during or after a workout.
