Intermediate Quadriceps Exercises with Treadmill
The quadriceps (quads) are a group of four muscles on the front of the thigh. They allow your knee to straighten and provide stability when standing. Your quads are the most important muscle group for maintaining the ability to stand and to walk independently.
It is also believed that arthritis pain can be relieved by strengthening the quadriceps muscles which takes pressure off the knees.
The treadmill is an indoor exercise machine that simulates running or walking while staying in one place.
Most treadmills have a “cardio mode”, where a target heart rate is defined and the speed and elevation (load) is controlled automatically until the subject is in “heart rate steady state”.
The treadmill can also be used for high intensity interval training, hill training and power walking.
Running on the treadmill is a great option for interval training.
