2010 Indoor Rowing Champions

A few of the trainers at the studio that I train out of entered an indoor rowing championship this past weekend and we won for the second straight year! The corporate challenge consisted of 8 people per team - 6 men and 2 women and was the combined team average for the 500 meter row.

I'm not going to lie... this was BY FAR one of the hardest things that I have done in a really long time!  I was totally exhausted at the end and I can't believe how trashed my body felt after only a minute and a half of full out exertion! My quads were so tight and sore after I finished from all the lactic acid and my head was pounding which I presume was from oxygen deprivation to my brain! And even though I completely bonked during the row and totally ran out of gas with more than a hundred meters to go, I still managed to do it in 1 min 29 sec! Not bad for only a week of preparation.. I think I'm going to actually work on my technique a bit this year and shoot for 1:26 next year!

I used to race the 500m sprint in a single scull. It is BRUTAL. But winning beats the brutality back. I loved the sprints.

Good job, folks!
Congrats!

awesome guys well done!! im looking to get an indoor triatholn (rowing instead of swimming, cycling and running on treadmil) sorted with some clubs from the university's athletics union... got athletics club, rowing club, swimming club signed up so far looking good... It's always good to get some extra competition in as it can push you that little bit further :)
